A little tight on cash this Valentine’s Day? Whataburger is celebrating cupid’s favorite holiday by offering a sweetheart deal for couples featuring their Patty Melt Whatameal.
From 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, any couple can purchase a Patty Melt Whatameal, which includes fries and a drink, and receive a second Patty Melt Whatameal free for dine-in service. Customers can even send a special e-vite from www.whataburger.com to ask their Valentines to join them for "I Love Patty Melt" night.
Countless customer stories of romance under the orange “W” inspired “I love Patty Melt” night. Rich Scheffler, Whataburger Restaurants, LP Group Director of Marketing said that the promotion is a way to thank customers for sharing their stories.
"We've heard so many great Whataburger love stories from our customers, and our 'I Love Patty Melt' promotion is our way of thanking them for sharing their stories and hopefully inspiring some new ones," said Scheffler.Click here for the original article.

I think this is ridiculous. While it may appeal to junior high students, I can't imagine too many adults taking their Valentines to Whataburger.
However, it is a great way for Whataburger to get attention. I wouldn't think there's too much advertising for other fast food restaurants focusing on V-Day. Also, it's a great way for Whataburger to get clicks/visits to their Web site. I'm interested to know what the results of this V-Day Patty Melt special are.
That is the cheapest thing I think I've ever seen.
It's gonna get a lot of men in a lot of trouble.
I have to totally agree. While it may be a clever ploy to play off the formal tradition of Valentine's Day, I doubt there is a better way to come off as a terrible date/boyfriend/husband. Not to mention, with 67% of our population already wayyyy overweight I don't think fast food Valentine's Day dinners are the best idea. I am sure many other guys, along with myself, would get physically injured for taking our date there. It's a no-go Whata.
