Abortion and anti-abortion issues have and will always be a controversial subject, but when two 26-foot trucks showing images of 10-week-old aborted fetuses drove through downtown Austin, it sparked an outrage from the public. Bill Calvin, the truck driver, said the graphic nature of the images serves to prove his point. Not everyone agreed with his method but it definitely accomplished what he wanted.
I personally don't disagree with him protesting abortion, because everyone has the right to do so. I'm somewhat on the fence about how I feel about the way he went about getting his message across. I feel like there is a time and place for these kind of messages to be disseminated and this wasn't very appropriate.

Obviously his method to connect with the community was shock value. Although i dont entire agree with his message i do see why he went about it the way he did. Everyday we are subjected to hundreds of different messages, many of them getting blown off and not getting a second thought. But by using such a tactic you can be sure that regardless of the action wether positive or negative, people are going to remeber it.
Ya I agree. There's no reason to expose that to the general public. It's really unnecessary for several demographics to have to see that.
I do not think his tactic was UNNECESSARY per say, but it was not the best. His message portrayed the way he felt, freedom of speech baby!
I agree with Blake. shock value promotion. and it worked! or at least got people talking and fired up about it. But I highly doubt those who are pro-choice are going to be too affected by the images. I also agree with the Andrea-I don't think that was necessarily the best time or place to do such a thing!
Wow way to get his message across. I do feel the material is maybe a little too graphic to post to the side of his truck. I don't have kids, but I feel this would be a never ending discussion if we were just cruising along the street on our way to the park. I mean how do you explain that to a 4-year-old child... YIKES!
I agreee with you. Issues of such a controversial nature shouldn't be driven around town! Some people get too offended and ofcourse children are also able to see such images when they are on the side of a car.
