Pepsi Sucks

Pepsi has gotten themselves into quite a conundrum after disappointing a crowd of New York Yankees fans last week.

Pepsi had promised to hand out free tickets to the first 250 people lined up outside the stadium where a seat can normally cost upwards of $150. Eagerly the fans began to line up and before Pepsi knew it they had their 250 fans. The only problem was that Pepsi didn't have the tickets.

After hearing that only 100 fans would be let in the crowd became unruly and instead of championing Pepsi and drinking their complementary sodas they began pouring them onto the ground in front of the stadium while cheers of "Pepsi sucks, Pepsi sucks, Pepsi sucks" rang out.

Pepsi, in an attempt to quell any negative effects from this attempted to remove viral videos from internet sites such as YouTube and Break! only to anger fans more.

Now after attempting to promote their product Pepsi is faced with an even larger PR issue.

Good article! Nice to see somebody else talking about Pepsi getting the video removed from Break.com.

It's pretty crazy that Pepsi could have messed up that bad. It's a little embarrassing and I'm wondering if they're going to do something to make up for their mistake. I would definitely be angry had this happened to me; but I don't think I would be pouring the drink out while chanting that Pepsi sucks.

SOOOOO funny. I always love to see major companies or corporations have a reality check when they spread themselves and their ego's too thin. Working in a restaurant that serves pepsi products, I have found that the people that dislike pepsi largely outnumber the people that like coke. I wonder if pepsi, for the next generation or two of consumers, will become the next RC cola?

I can't believe that such a prestigious brand like Pepsi would let this happen. This will definitely cost more to fix than it would have to let an extra hundred people into the ball game. What a terrible PR stunt. Went from a good plan to a horrible nightmare. WAY TO GO PEPSI!!!

Yeah, I'd be pretty upset too. I'm kinda surprised that a big business like Pepsi could have messed up that bad.

I think this is a pretty sweet story. Pepsi really messed up and this video clearly shows what happens when a business promises something to the public and don't deliver. Pepsi had a lot of catching up to do and i really hope they did so. I don't really think it will affect them that much, but it still makes them look bad.
