Google Gets In Trouble

Google received it's first fine ever for breaching privacy laws in France. They were fined 100,000 euros ($141,300) for collecting personal data from Wi-Fi networks.

While this is the first fine, it's not the first time someone has complained about the how Google gathers data. More than 30 countries aren't happy with Google and two are also considering fining the company.

Google has apologized and said that they will take the information off. However, this doesn't satisfy everyone. Leaders have complained about the lack of transparency and willingness to cooperate. The company has even started a new term, "Wi-Spy."

It should be interesting how this plays out - Technology v. Privacy. Google has two weeks to appeal the fine.
