Facebook enables 'subscribe' feature

The introduction of new social media sites such as Google+ have caused Facebook to reevaluate its position in the social networking world. Everyone has had their issues with Facebook at one time or another. Whether it was confusion over privacy settings or being able to show a post to one friend but not another, Facebook hasn't always made it easy.

In an effort to keep up with other sites like Google+ and Twitter, Facebook is introducing a 'subscribe' feature. This feature will allow you to follow certain people's updates without adding them as a friend and giving them access to all of your information. For those who would like to share their thoughts with strangers, a subscribe button can be requested for their page.

They have also introduced improved friend lists, similar to Google+ circles. One feature called "smart lists" automatically organizes your friends by certain categories.

Facebook was once the hottest, most exciting social networking site on the internet, but the times may be changing. Once the leader in social networking innovation, it seems that these days Facebook is always one step behind.

I wish Facebook would stop trying to change and become "better" than it is. I feel it tries to hard to be like other social media when it does just fine as Facebook. With the music app now it is starting to become like MySpace. Next thing you know we will be able to add colored backgrounds and change the font as well.
