Disney Plans for Four More Classic Re-Releases in 3D

Disney had a pleasant surprise with the success of Lion King 3D in a limited theatrical re-release. This success has now prompted Disney to continue that successful trend by planning for four more 3D classic re-releases.
The four Disney favorites are to be released sporadically over the next two years. The four announced favorites are Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. and The Little Mermaid.
The success of Lion King came not only as a surprise to Disney Inc. but also to the motion theater industry. The theater industry has taken a hard hit from the recession and the fast developing technologies chomping at the bit as their competition.
I applaud Disney on finding a way to reclaim consumer loyalty through existing motion pictures. Their efforts to not only re-present their product, but to spice them up in 3D for their ever growing and changing audiences within their client base is inspiring.
