New Technology for Old Disney Movies

The Wall Street Journal had an article yesterday in Media & Marketing about Disney's success with re-releasing The Lion King in 3D. The 17 year old movie was re-released to theaters in 3D largely in party to the release of Lion King on Blu-ray. The promotion was a success earning more than $100 million dollars in 3 1/2 weeks. Disney plans re-release other Disney favorites such as Beauty & the Beast, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc and Little Mermaid. With the success of Lion King 3D, the re-releases of other Disney movies in 3D are expected to do well.
