As you can probably guess, I was happy to find this article by PR Daily. The article has a lot of positive content for public relations practitioners to get excited about. Here are some of the facts:
• 24 percent growth in PR jobs forecast by 2018;
• 93 percent increase in PR job listings (November 2009 through May 2011);
• 307 percent more "social media marketing" job listings (November 2009 through June 2011);
• 34 percent of PR professionals will reach retirement age in the next four to seven years.
It seems like things might just turn out alright for us in the future; provided we work hard and always continue developing our skills. Anyway, this article made me feel better, and I hope it helps you relax a little, too. How do you feel about the job market? Are you staying positive?

This article has done much to ease my fears about graduating in December. I too have felt surrounded by consistently negative feedback about the job market, so something like this about the PR field specifically gives future graduates some hope.
The PR I interned at in Austin had recently hired a Texas State graduate as their social media coordinator and another recent UT graduate as an account assistant. Maybe there is more hope for us then we thought.
I like this post. I think it's really important for graduates to stay focused on finding jobs that really fit their skills and interests, instead of taking any job that comes along because we've been told how difficult the job market is.
I really like this post too and it makes me glad I chose a PR degree!
I absolutely try to stay positive, but I think it is a bit inevitable to worry sometimes. With graduation around the corner, and no job lined up, I pretty much have that fact in back of my head constantly. Reading this, does give me a bit of hope though.
