Hands on the wheel!

Ford has created a new technology that will be installed in all new and some old vehicles. This technology will read messages from your phone, out loud, as you drive. This feature was created to reduce cell phone use while driving. It's part of the voice-activated technology, Sync, and is already installed in all 2012 Ford vehicles.

Using the bluetooth connection, it syncs the phone and alerts users of messages and email's they receive. It then reads them out loud and can send generic email or messages back.

Keeping the world connected even more, but at least it is safer!

I would be freaked out because it will probably read your messages in a weird robot voice or a gps-like british woman voice, so it won't sound like your friends at all... or whoever you're getting messages from.

I guess this will help with texting and driving situation. Only thing is, is that you cannot respond to the message. Wonder what they'll come up with next for cars...never would have thought they'd do something like this.

I agree with Fran- people will still respond to the texts, so I can't see how this will keep it safer.

I agree with Jesse. The first thing I thought of when I read this was how annoyed I would probably get with the voice. And I feel like this could end up making a lot of errors with accents and mis-communication which will make the driver even more distracted.

This to me, is such great news. I already constantly use the bluetooth on my phone, it is probably the most important tool in my life. I am guilty of texting and driving, and I am fully aware of how dangeorous it is, but I place too much importance on being prompt with emails and messages.
